Pneu Books

"PNEU BOOKS" - See how we helped our community in memory of the tragic events of 9/11.

We are proud to introduce you to Pneu Books, a community based program that the Associates of Penn-Air & Hydraulics Corp. initiated as of September 11th, 2002.  Like many businesses, we were searching for a way to remember those that lost their lives as a result of the tragic events on September 11th.  We wanted to remember those individuals and families who lost their sons, daughters, parents and friends.  In recognition of the victims, we supported the Alexander D. Goode Elementary School by donating books to the school library.  This York inner city school was challenged financially and the need for new books was ongoing.  Each one of our 65 Associates over 10 months purchased one new book.  The book was dedicated to one of the victims of United Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania.  In addition to purchasing the book, our Associates visited the school and read the book.  As an extension of the Community Literacy Project, the school invited us to read to their K through 5th grade classes.  The 30 minute session with the students was a win-win for both the school and our associates.  The kids enjoyed meeting our colleagues.  They were exposed to a variety of adults who can help them to better understand what is available to them in our community.  Our Associates truly enjoyed the interaction and the exchange of ideas.  Each Associate links their book with something that the victim was involved with during their life.  To share our time with our future leaders, is just one way we can help to make a difference.  The Pneu Books program truly brought it all together.  A special thank you to Dr. Michael Lowe, Principal of the Alexander D. Goode School for his warm hospitality to the PKP Associates.

The 65 Associates at Penn-Air & Hydraulics salute Aric Kraft, a 5th grader at the Alexander D. Goode Elementary School in York.  Aric had been selected STUDENT OF THE MONTH as a result of completing his homework as well as earning "goode" grades.  We had the pleasure of meeting Aric over the holidays as he and several other students delivered Christmas cookies to our Associates.
